Mentoring

I have had the pleasure of mentoring students in all aspects of research through my academic career: from training new research assistants in study protocols as a project coordinator for multiple R01 grant-funded studies, to guiding undergraduates through their own independent research projects. I find joy in teaching eager students who want to learn and are excited about science! Through my graduate student career and beyond, I will continue to prioritize investing in student researchers, providing them with training and opportunities to actively engage (and find the fun and joy!) in research.

student feedback

“Lindsay was probably my most helpful TA I’ve had in my 4 years at MSU. She's a natural at it and is very easy to talk to and not intimidating. She handled our class great even with some specific students who did not act appropriately or respectful in class. She is one of the only TA's that I have felt comfortable asking questions with and having discussions. I think her teaching style is great and can be very flexible and helpful for students with different learning techniques and styles.”

“You are a really wonderful instructor! I enjoyed taking my lab with you, you kept me engaged. I felt like I was learning about R without being lost and you helped everyone stay on the same page which is really nice. You'll be an amazing teacher and you have such kind energy!!”

“I was honestly surprised when my TA said it was her first time teaching, since she presented the material well and I was able to understand certain topics a lot easier when she explained them. She was helpful with questions I had, and I enjoyed going to lab because of the way she taught it.”
